In 1940, she attended Mr. Swallwell’s sixth form girls’ school and formed deep friendships with girls who shared her interests in theatre, writing, and music. Despite the looming threat of the Nazis, Anne found solace in her hobbies of reading and collecting, and her zest for life brought her happiness. Tragically, her family’s fears were realized when they were captured and sent to concentration camps in 1944.
